Dodgers Highlights: Teoscar Hernández 2-Home Run Game, Kiké Hernández Adds Solo Shot & More

The Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a series win against the New York Yankees, backed by an 11-3 blowout in the middle game of the three-game set.

Teoscar Hernández led the offense for the second straight night. After his game-winning hit in extra innings on Friday, he followed that up with a six-RBI performance on Saturday.

He started the scoring off in the first inning with a solo home run, and later added another RBI when he grounded into a force out in the sixth.

But his biggest hit came in the eighth inning to break the game open. With the Dodgers leading 4-2, Hernández crushed a grand slam to drive in Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and Will Smith, doubling the Dodgers’ lead.

Kiké Hernández also added a homer in the fifth inning to put the Dodgers back out in front to a 3-2 lead. With both Teoscar and Kiké homering, it was the first time in MLB history that a pair of teammates with the last name “Hernández” homered in the same game.

Shohei Ohtani recorded an RBI single in the third inning, and the Dodgers’ added on in the ninth with three more runs. The first two were driven in by Freddie Freeman with a double, and the last came when Andy Pages drew a bases-loaded walk against a position player pitching.

Aaron Judge hit two home runs for the Yankees, but it wasn’t enough to keep their offense within range of the Dodgers when it was all said and done.

Dodgers pitching excels

Gavin Stone made the start and turned in a strong outing, going 5.2 innings while allowing two earned runs. He dealt with traffic on the bases, allowing eight hits and two walks, but was able to limit the damage every time.

Alex Vesia entered with the bases loaded and two outs in the sixth inning with the Dodgers leading by two, and he promptly got Anthony Volpe to fly out. In the next inning, he pitched a perfect frame against the heart of the Yankees’ lineup, giving the Dodgers all the momentum.

Ryan Yarbrough pitched the final two innings, giving up a homer to Judge as the only run he allowed.
