Mookie Betts On Board With LeBron James’ Proposal Of Championship Parade For Dodgers, Lakers & Rams

The Los Angeles Rams rallied late to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI to capture their second championship in franchise history and first on the West Coast. The team is now set to hold their victory parade on Wednesday, which will begin at the Shrine Auditorium and end at L.A. Memorial Coliseum.

Over the past 16 months, the city has been able to celebrate titles won by the Lakers, Dodgers and Rams. The Dodgers and Lakers delivered championships in 2020, marking their first time combining to do so since 1988.

However, the teams have not been able to enjoy a parade with fans due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. There was speculation of potentially collaborating on a joint celebration through downtown L.A., but that never came to fruition.

LeBron James has not given up on the idea and recently proposed a mega parade for the Dodgers, Lakers and Rams. Although that doesn’t appear likely at this time, Mookie Betts is in favor of a massive celebration as well.

Justin Turner previously raised the question of the Dodgers joining the Rams for a championship parade. Under normal circumstances of an offseason, the Dodgers would be on the verge of starting Spring Training, but still have free time on their hands due to the ongoing MLB lockout.

As for the Lakers, they are hosting the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night in what marks their final game before the NBA All-Star break, so it would be close to impossible for them to join the Dodgers and Rams for a hypothetical joint parade.

Turner: Time for Dodgers to ‘follow suit’ after Rams win Super Bowl LVI

Now that the Rams have punctuated their season with a win over the Bengals in Super Bowl 56, Trea Turner believes it is the Dodgers’ turn to bring another championship to L.A.

Despite losing several key players in free agency, the Dodgers are projected by ZiPS to win the most games in baseball this season. That’s not taking into account possible additions the team could make when business resumes as soon as new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) is in place.
