Dodgers Roster: Blake Treinen & Michael Kopech Transferred To 60-Day Injured List

The Los Angeles Dodgers transferred Blake Treinen and Michael Kopech to the 60-day injured list. The moves made room on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster for the additions of J.P. Feyereisen and Ryan Loutos.

Treinen was placed on the 15-day IL in the middle of April due to what the Dodgers described as a low-grade right forearm strain. However, Treinen has not thrown a baseball since April 18, when he was warming up in the bullpen to potentially pitch against the Texas Rangers.

The Dodgers expect Treinen to be out long-term as they focus on getting him healthy for late in the season and into October.

The Dodgers believe Treinen just needs rest until the issue goes away and he is not expected to require any surgery or treatment.

“I think with Blake, just appreciating the fact that we’re going to need him in the second half and beyond, we have time so take the time that way when he gets back, we can just go from there and not look back,” manager Dave Roberts recently said.

Kopech has yet to pitch this season as he’s been dealing with a right shoulder impingement that caused him to start the year on the injured list.

The issue was believed due to lingering effects from right forearm inflammation that surfaced during the 2024 postseason. The injury put Kopech behind in camp and he also dealt with an illness that further contributed to not pitching in any Spring Training games.

Like Treinen, Kopech also has a long road toward his return and has spent the majority of the season working at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona.

New Dodgers relief pitchers

The Dodgers acquired Feyereisen off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks and traded for Loutos from the St. Louis Cardinals for cash considerations.

Feyereisen made two appearances for the Diamondbacks before getting designated for assignment on April 27. He tossed two innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out two.

This is his second stint with the Dodgers organization, recording an 0-1 mark with an 8.18 ERA in 10 games last season.

Loutos was designated for assignment on April 28.

He made his Major League debut in 2024, appearing in three games without allowing a run. He was 0-0 with a 3.38 ERA in eight games for Triple-A Memphis this season.
