Heading into play on May 15, the Los Angeles Dodgers are riding an unbelievable stretch of play that has allowed them to both win games, while finding their rhythm as a unit.

Harboring several injuries on the backend, the Dodgers’ bullpen has been rock solid, finishing out games that have seen their starting pitchers provide much needed length.

Runs being at a premium for opposing teams is doing big favors for their offense, whose four-headed monster is among the league’s best.

Over their last 21 games, the Dodgers’ offense has batted .263/.345/.447 with a 127 wRC+ and 236 runs scored. That coupled with their team ERA of 3.16 during that stretch has made for a bit of history among Major League teams.

According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, the Dodgers +79 run differential is tied for the third-best mark in a single-season 21-game span since 1900.

the Dodgers have a +79 run differential in their last 21 games, tied for their 3rd-best in a single-season 21-game span since 1900, behind only:

1901: +83
1901: +82
(spans overlapped in part)

other +79s: 2022, 1953, 1901

Since April 21, the Dodgers have 10 hitters with with wRC+ above 100. Shohei Ohtani (231), Freddie Freeman (169), Mookie Betts (155), Will Smith (142) and Max Muncy (137), highlight their group.

The Dodgers’ 53.2 offensive value, which combines both offense and base running, leads the league over that stretch.

Several factors help out such a hot stretch, but complimentary play in all areas of their roster makes for good baseball all around.

Dodgers season as a whole

The Dodgers currently sit atop the National League West with a sizable lead at this point of the season. Showcasing one of baseball’s best offenses with three hitters in Ohtani, Betts and Freeman who are doing the bulk of the heavy lifting.

The trio currently ranks among the top producers against right-handed pitching, which compliments their elevated prowess against southpaws.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has navigated his bench nicely, working around struggling bats, while keeping the hot hand in there.
