FOCO released a new Los Angeles Dodgers bobblehead to commemorate Shohei Ohtani being on the cover of Sports Illustrated for April 2024.
The Sports Illustrated magazine cover is Ohtani’s first since signing a record-setting 10-year, $700 million contract with the Dodgers this past December. It marked the start of the team putting together a financially-historic offseason that included signing Yoshinobu Yamamoto and a contract extension for Tyler Glasnow after completing a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Ohtani’s Sports Illustrated cover features the two-way star dressed in the Dodgers’ home white uniform and holding a black baseball bat over his left shoulder.

The Ohtani bobblehead is posed just like his Sports Illustrated cover photo and set atop a base that features Dodgers logos and player name.
The new Ohtani bobblehead stands eight inches tall and is limited to 300 units. The item will not be restocked once quantities sell out.
Last season, FOCO sold a Clayton Kershaw bobblehead to commemorate his Sports Illustrated cover that was the magazine’s baseball preview for 2013.
Ohtani has been the subject of multiple Dodgers bobblehead releases by FOCO, including versions for the Seoul Series.
The Dodgers additionally are planning two Ohtani bobblehead giveaway dates at Dodger Stadium this season on May 16 and Aug. 28. The assumption is one will be of Ohtani as a designated hitter and the other pitching.
Shohei Ohtani not under investigation
Unfortunately for Ohtani, much of the headlines he’s currently involved in are related to former interpreter Ippei Mizuhara allegedly participating in illegal gambling.
The Dodgers fired Mizuhara, and although bank transfers were made from an account under Ohtani’s name, he is not believed to be under federal or MLB investigation at this time.
