Nabil Crismatt cleared waivers and was sent outright to the Triple-A Oklahoma City Baseball Club. The Los Angeles Dodgers had designated Crismatt for assignment on April 1 as the corresponding move to adding Dinelson Lamet onto their 40-man roster.

Crismatt was called up one day prior when the Dodgers optioned Kyle Hurt to Triple-A and transferred Emmet Sheehan on the 60-day injured list.

The right-hander pitched well in his only appearance at the big league level, throwing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Crismatt originally joined the Dodgers on a Minor League contract that included a non-roster invite to Spring Training last December. He pitched to mixed results in six Cactus League games, allowing a run in three of those appearances.

Crismatt finished the spring with an 8.44 ERA and 2.06 WHIP while allowing opponents to bat .286. He began the season with Triple-A Oklahoma City but had yet to pitch for them.

Crismatt made his MLB debut with the Cardinals in 2020 and was with the San Diego Padres from 2021-2023. After San Diego designated him for assignment last June, he finished the 2023 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The veteran went a combined 0-2 with an 8.31 ERA and 2.00 WHIP in eight appearances between the Padres and Diamondbacks. Crismatt also struggled with the Reno Aces, going 4-3 with a 6.85 ERA in 14 games (nine starts).

Nabil Crismatt’s MLB career

In parts of five MLB seasons, Crismatt owns a 9-5 record, 3.72 ERA, 3.95 FIP and 1.30 WHIP over 172 innings pitched. His biggest workload came in 2021, when he posted a 3.76 ERA in 81.1 innings with the Padres.

Crismatt followed that up by recording a career-best 2.94 ERA in 50 appearances (one start) during the 2022 season.
