The Los Angeles Dodgers selected the contract of veteran reliever Dinelson Lamet from Triple-A Oklahoma City and designated Nabil Crismatt for assignment.

Lamet signed a Minor League contract with the Dodgers in February and went on to appear in four Cactus League games, allowing two runs (one earned) with five strikeouts over 3.2 innings pitched.

The 31-year-old did not appear in any games at Triple-A before joining the Dodgers. Lamet has six years pitching at the MLB level, and first debuted in 2017 before missing all of 2018 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He was originally signed by the Padres as an international free agent.

He has spent time with the San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox, posting a a career 4.66 ERA, 4.02 FIP, and 5.7 WAR across 363.1 innings with a 30% strikeout rate. Lamet was also part of the Padres trade for Josh Hader, but he did not end up appearing in a game with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Lamet spent the 2023 season with the Red Sox and Rockies, where he went a combined 1-4 with an 11.57 ERA in 17 games (four starts). The Santiago, Dominican Republic native is in his seventh Major League season.

Nabil Crismatt designated for assignment

Crismatt was added to the roster on Sunday when the Dodgers optioned Kyle Hurt to Triple-A and transferred Emmet Sheehan on the 60-day injured list.

The Dodgers now have seven days to either trade Crismatt or place him on outright or unconditional release waivers. If he clears waivers, he may be optioned back to the Minor Leagues.

The right-hander pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts on Sunday and earned the win in the Dodgers comeback victory.

In Spring Training, he pitched to mixed results in six Cactus League games, allowing a run in three of those appearances. Crismatt finished the spring with an 8.44 ERA and 2.06 WHIP while allowing opponents to bat .286.
