2025 World Series: Bo Bichette Expects To Return To Blue Jays Roster

The Toronto Blue Jays punched their ticket to the World Series for a matchup with the Los Angeles Dodgers after eliminating the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series.

The Blue Jays have gotten to this point in the postseason without All-Star shortstop Bo Bichette, who missed the first two rounds due to a left knee injury.

After the Blue Jays’ series-clinching win over the Mariners, Bichette told Jon Morosi of MLB Network that he plans to play in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday:

Asked Bo Bichette if he’ll be ready for the World Series.

He said yes.

“I’m good,” he said.

Bichette has been out of the Blue Jays lineup since Sept. 6, when he injured his left knee in a home-plate collision during a game against the New York Yankees.

Prior to that, Bichette had enjoyed a bounce-back 2025 season as he hit .311/.357/.483 with 44 doubles, one triple, 18 home runs and 94 RBI in 139 games.

The 27-year-old went 2-for-12 with a double, walk and three runs scored when the Dodgers took two of three games from the Blue Jays at Dodger Stadium from Aug. 8-10.

If Bichette returns as expected, Andrés Giménez would likely shift over from shortstop to second base.

Bo Bichette’s impact on Blue Jays

Bichette is in his seventh season with the Blue Jays and has been a big part of their identity over that time frame.

The Blue Jays were holding out hope they would advance far enough for Bichette to return and he will now have that opportunity on baseball’s biggest stage.

Bichette is due to become a free agent after the World Series concludes.
