SportsNet LA Wins At 2024 Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards

Now in their 11th season as the exclusive home of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Spectrum SportsNet LA was recognized at the 2024 Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards for their in-depth coverage of the team.

SportsNet LA won in the Sports Feature category with their “Access SportsNet: Dodgers” episode that looked back on Orel Hershiser’s career. The feature was produced by Greg Taylor, written by Cary Osborne and edited by Nicholas Gresham.

Hershiser was drafted by the Dodgers in the 17th round in 1979. He spent 13 years with the team and among other accomplishments, was part of the Dodgers winning the World Series in 1988.

SportsNet LA also won an Emmy in the Sports Tease category with their “The Love of Baseball” segment on Opening Day of the 2024 season. The feature was produced by Jack DeGroote and Jose Guzman served as the editor. Clayton Kershaw was additionally credited as on-camera talent.

SportsNet LA’s sister channel, Spectrum SportsNet, also won two Emmy Awards for their coverage of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 76th annual Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards were held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. The awards ceremony honored locally-produced programs in the categories of Live and Breaking News Coverage, Crime and Social Issues, Culture and History, the Arts, Health and Science, Human Interest, Music, Sports, and the Environment.

SportsNet LA won in multiple categories at last year’s Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards as well.

The SportsNet LA broadcasting team is comprised of Joe Davis, John Hartung, Adrián González, Jerry Hairston Jr., Dontrelle Willis, Kirsten Watson, Orel Hershiser, Stephen Nelson, Nomar Garciaparra, Eric Karros, Jessica Mendoza and Tim Neverett.

Hartung, Hairston, Hershisher and Garciappara are among the broadcasters who have been with SportsNet LA since the channel first launched in 2014.
