Back during Spring Training in 2015, actor Will Ferrell took on the challenge of playing for 10 teams across five Cactus League games all in the span of a single day.

That included Ferrell playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers en route to accomplishing the feat, which he completed in their road game against the San Diego Padres.

“When I embarked on this journey, way back at breakfast, I thought to myself, ‘Can I do it?’ The answer was yes,” Ferrell said during an on-field speech at Peoria Sports Complex after playing in his final game.

“I’ll never forget what happened today. Unless I get hit by a line drive.”

Ferrell was back on hand at Dodgers Spring Training on Sunday, joining in as manager Dave Roberts spoke with reporters and recalling his playing career, via ESPN’s Alden González:

While pitching for the Dodgers in the 2015 Spring Training game, Ferrell fielded a bunt by Ricko Noel and made the play at first base.

Noel last played for an MLB affiliate in 2017 when he was with Triple-A Fresno. He since has gone on to play independent baseball in the Atlantic League and Mexican League.

Ferrell’s moonlight baseball career was to benefit Cancer for College, which awards scholarships to people fighting cancer.

Will Ferrell among celebrity Dodgers fans

Ferrell has been a fan of the team both prior to and since playing in the Dodgers Spring Training game. In 2016, he was the emcee of the fourth annual Kershaw’s Challenge Ping Pong 4 Purpose charity tournament at Dodger Stadium.

More recently, Ferrell was with Mookie Betts and Walker Buehler when the Los Angeles Kings hosted Dodgers Night at Crypto.com Arena.
