Updated 2022 Dodgers Spring Training Schedule: Cactus League Opener March 18 Vs. Brewers

As a result of the MLB lockout leading to the cancelation of games, the revised 2022 Los Angeles Dodgers Spring Training schedule now begins Friday, March 18, with a matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers at Camelback Ranch.

The original Cactus League opener had the Dodgers facing the Chicago Cubs at Sloan Park on Feb. 26. When MLB twice canceled Spring Training games, it appeared the Dodgers open against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Salt River Fields — a trip that now doesn’t come until March 28.

Instead, the Dodgers’ matchup with the Brewers is one of nine Spring Training games they will play at Camelback Ranch — with seven of those coming as the home team. The Dodgers are the designated road team against the Chicago White Sox on Monday, March 21.

Their Cactus League schedule concludes Saturday, April 1, with a home game against the San Francisco Giants. It represents the lone meeting between the two rivals as part of the updated 2022 Spring Training schedule.

The Dodgers then break camp and return to Southern California for the exhibition Freeway Series that begins March 3 at Angel Stadium. It then shifts to Dodger Stadium the next two nights to wrap up their Spring Training schedule.

In total, the Dodgers will play 18 exhibition games — down from the originally scheduled 33. Their only off day is Friday, April 1. Start times for Spring Training games have not yet been announced, but fans can purchase Dodgers tickets (subject to availability).

The Dodgers are in their 14th year at Camelback Ranch. The property features a state-of-the-art ballpark, six practice fields on the Dodgers’ side of the complex, including a replica Dodger Stadium field, fan photo elements commemorating franchise history, walking trails, an orange grove and a five-acre lake.

2022 Dodgers Opening Day

Opening Day of the regular season was delayed by just one week — to April 7. However, that was a scheduled travel day for the Dodgers and therefor they won’t take the field until April 8, for the start of a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies.

It marks a second consecutive year the Dodgers and Rockies play at Coors Field on Opening Day.
