The Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers are undergoing a branding change that includes utilizing new logos and uniforms for the 2024 Minor League season as they work toward establishing a different team name.

For the time being, the OKC Dodgers are going to use the Oklahoma City Baseball Club as a temporary name for the upcoming season. Following the conclusion of the 2024 season, OKC team officials will unveil a new permanent identity.

“For the last nine years, it has been an honor and a privilege to share one of the most iconic brands in all of professional sports,” Oklahoma City Baseball Club president and general manager Michael Byrnes said in a statement.

“However, we’re excited this new era affords us the opportunity to strengthen our connection to our community and reinforce that we are Oklahoma City’s team.”

Although the organization is no longer known as the Oklahoma City Dodgers, the team is still remaining the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers under the current Professional Development League license that was established in February 2021.

Dodgers GM Brandon Gomes added: “Our Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City has been an incredible partner over the last nine seasons and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them for many years to come.”

Prior to Oklahoma City becoming the Triple-A affiliate of the Dodgers, that designation belonged to Albuquerque Isotopes for six seasons. Their partnership ended in September 2014, and the Dodgers then became affiliated with the then-Oklahoma City RedHawks.

OKC Dodgers in process of finding new name

The process to develop a new permanent identity for the OKC Baseball Club is underway, as the organization previously hosted a series of meetings and focus groups with key community leaders and stakeholders to receive input.

As OKC continues to evaluate options for a new name, the franchise’s history will be celebrated throughout the 2024 Minor League season.

During every Sunday home game, the team will wear its City Celebration jerseys and caps, which were introduced in 2023 in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. For every Thursday home game, the team will wear refreshed Oklahoma City 89ers jerseys and hats.
