Six Teams Selected To Unveil New Nike City Connect Uniforms During 2023 Season

MLB and Nike announced the return of City Connect uniforms with six teams selected to unveil a new design during the 2023 season.

The Atlanta Braves (April 8 debut), Texas Rangers (April 21), Seattle Mariners (May 5), Cincinnati Reds (May 19), Baltimore Orioles (May 26) and Pittsburgh Pirates (June 27) are the clubs scheduled to debut new City Connect uniforms this year.

The Dodgers were part of the inaugural seven teams with a Nike City Connect uniform in 2021, along with the Boston Red Sox, Miami Marlins, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, Arizona Diamondbacks and San Francisco Giants.

Then in 2022, the City Connect program was expanded to feature the Colorado Rockies, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals. The Dodgers wore their all-blue uniform for a handful of games last season.

The Nike MLB City Connect program was created to celebrate the bond between each team and its city. The uniform series explores the personality, values and customs that make each community and their residents unique.

“Over the course of its first two seasons, the Nike MLB City Connect Series has been the most successful consumer product initiative we’ve ever had,” MLB chief revenue officer Noah Garden said in a statement.

“The overwhelmingly positive response from our fans is clear when you see ballparks full of these distinct designs and colors.

“Our Clubs have focused so much time and effort with Nike to create these exceptional uniforms for their fan bases, and it shows in every last detail. We look forward to seeing even more of our parks filled with City Connect jerseys this season.”

Dodgers unveiled new City Connect cap for 2022 season

Although the Dodgers kept their inaugural City Connect uniform design last season, they did make minor changes to the cap. “Los Dodgers” was replaced by the traditional logo and shifted to the right side in smaller font. Furthermore, the bill of the Dodgers lid was changed to black.
