The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, are headed into the 2025 with manager John Shoemaker at the helm for a fifth season.

Pitching coach Ramon Troncoso also is back with the Quakes for a fourth consecutive season. However, the Quakes coaching staff otherwise has undergone drastic change, with newcomers in every other position on the staff.

Shoemaker began his coaching career in 1981, starting as a hitting coach with the Vero Beach Dodgers of the Florida State League. The Quakes finished with a 65-65 record last season under Shoemaker. After reaching the California League Championship Series in 2023, the team missed the California League playoffs altogether last season.

Troncoso was a former Major Leaguer with five seasons of experience in the Majors, four of which came with the Dodgers. In 2018, he was hired as a pitching coach for the Dodgers Dominican Summer League affiliate, and was promoted to his current position in 2021.

Brandon Bailey is the Quakes’ second pitching coach and replaces Sean Coyne, who was promoted to High-A Great Lakes. Bailey served as the pitching coach for the Florida Complex League Orioles last season.

New hitting coach Johermyn Chavez and bench coach Dunior Zerpa replace Blake Gailen and Cordell Hipolito, respectively, as they are now on the Double-A Tulsa staff.

Chavez has been with the Dodgers organization since 2018, serving as a hitting coach with the team’s Arizona Complex League affiliate. Zerpa was co-manager of the Dominican Summer League Dodgers in 2024.

Rounding out the the Quakes coaching staff for the 2025 season are athletic trainer Alfredo Casillas, performance coach Jake Taylor, development associate Max Delorme and bullpen catcher Marco Hernandez.

Dodgers’ final season with Rancho Cucamonga Quakes affiliate

The Dodgers will have a new Single-A affiliate based in Ontario for the 2026 season as part of multiple changes affecting the California League. The announcement was made last November, but an official team name has not yet been determined.

While this season marks the end of the Dodgers’ affiliation with Rancho Cucamonga, the Quakes organization will continue playing, but as an affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels — an organization they were previously part of.
