Phillips 66 Refinery Decorated To Support Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation For Halloween Drive-Thru Event

The Phillips 66 Los Angeles Refinery continued its tradition of being decorated as “Smilin’ Jack” to become the world’s largest jack-o’-lantern and it is accompanied by a neighboring tank being outfitted to support the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF).

“Smilin’ Jack has been a Halloween tradition since 1952,” Phillips 66 Los Angeles Refinery public affairs advisor Juliana Moreno said in a statement. “Phillips 66 is proud to support LADF’s efforts advancing education and fostering strong and resilient communities.”

Phillips 66 and 76 Gas are partnering to host a drive-thru Halloween event on October 27 and 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. PT on both nights. The community is invited to drive through and take pictures with the tanks and trick-or-treat at the refinery.

The Phillips 66 Refinery is located at 1660 West Anaheim Street, Wilmington, CA 90744, between the 110 Harbor Freeway and Gaffey Street. The event entrance is located on the corner of Anaheim Street and Gaffey Street, and cars will be directed once arriving on site.

The Los Angeles Refinery and 76 previously partnered with the LADF to improve access to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education for 5,000 local youth.

“Teaming up with 76 affords us the opportunity to further our mission of providing STEM curriculum to youth in Los Angeles,” Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation chief executive office Nichol Whiteman said last month.

“With the 76 brand’s support, we’re able to train more teachers and offer a first of its kind STEM curriculum and accompanying kits to keep students engaged in science and math as they hit the age where their interests and test scores tend to decline.”

The collaboration between 76 and the LADF included a custom pin featuring the iconic Smilin’ Jack; the fuel company started the campaign with a $35,000 donation. The first 500 fans to make a minimum $76 donation received a limited-edition Smilin’ Jack pin and a co-branded corduroy cap.

Fans are asked to continue supporting the LADF by texting “FUEL” to 41623 to donate and learn more.

Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation breaks ground on latest project

Earlier this month, Hanser Alberto, along with Evan Phillips and his wife Liz, were among those on hand to support the LADF for a groundbreaking ceremony on Dodgers Dreamfields at Edward Vincent Jr. Park in Inglewood, California.

Dodgers Dreamfields Nos. 59 and 60 are scheduled to open in spring of 2023.
