The Los Angeles Dodgers were prominently featured on the list of the top 20 selling MLB jerseys for the first half of the 2023 season, with Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Clayton Kershaw all making the cut.
Betts placed sixth, Freeman was 16th and Kershaw checked in at 20th. Rankings were based on Nike jersey sales from MLBShop.com since Opening Day.
Betts has consistently been among the leaders in jersey sales since his trade to the Dodgers prior to the 2020 season. He finished that year in the No. 1 spot and maintained it heading into the 2021 campaign.
Betts also topped Lids’ rankings of top selling MLB jerseys for the 2022 season. The Dodgers as a team ranked second overall in merchandise sales, trailing only the New York Yankees.
Kershaw has been a staple of top jersey sales in recent years, topping out at No. 4 in both 2017 and 2018. The same applies to Freeman, who has appeared on the annual list in every season since 2017.
The Dodgers’ three representatives is tied with the Houston Astros for the second-most in all of baseball, behind only the Atlanta Braves’ four.
Ronald Acuña Jr. and Shohei Ohtani, who led their respective leagues in All-Star Game voting, claimed the first two spots on the top selling MLB jersey list for 2023.
