Although there was an apparent attempt to not overshadow the 2018 MLB All-Star Game, that is essentially what occurred as speculation ran rampant that Manny Machado was on the verge of being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Reports suggested the deal would be finalized and announced as early as Wednesday. It marked a rather quick ending, considering players of Machado’s caliber typically aren’t dealt until closer to the non-waiver trade deadline.
But while there was an expectation the Dodgers reached an agreement to acquire the All-Star shortstop, some issued caution because of the Baltimore Orioles’ history of indecision and 11th-hour change of heart.
While it’s unclear if that’s occurred, the Orioles at least appear to have some issue with the physical of one or more Dodgers prospects they are due to receive in the trade, per Steve Phillips of MLB Network Radio:

It’s believed the Dodgers have built a trade package around young outfielder Yusniel Diaz, who recently slugged two home runs in the Futures Game. Los Angeles was said to be sending as many as five prospects to the Orioles.
Not much is known about the names of other Minor Leaguers who are expected to be traded. Previous reports suggested the Orioles wished to receive Gavin Lux and/or Dustin May, both of whom the Dodgers are believed to have kept out of the deal.
If the agreed-upon trade is to fall apart, the Arizona Diamondbacks, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees or Philadelphia Phillies could re-enter the picture. Each of the aforementioned teams were identified as a frontrunner to acquire Machado at various points over recent weeks.
