The Freeway Series finale between the Los Angeles Dodgers and L.A. Angels is slated to be a full national broadcast on TBS. First pitch on Sunday is set for 1:10 p.m. PT.

The network’s regular season coverage features a Sunday afternoon game telecast each week. TBS will showcase one of this year’s American League Wild Card series and is the exclusive home of both of the AL Division Series and AL Championship Series.

SportsNet LA will also carry Sunday’s game, with Joe Davis, Orel Hershiser and Alanna Rizzo on the call from Dodger Stadium. Because of changes due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the SportsNet LA crew is covering all games from Dodger Stadium.

As for the Freeway Series, it represents a collection of impressive talent in the form of five former MVP winners in the form of Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, Clayton Kershaw, Albert Pujols and Mike Trout.

Betts and Trout are of course considered among the top players in the game, though the Dodgers outfielder downplayed the significance of competing against one another. Specifically when asked if it is MLB’s version of LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard playing each other.

“It’s not me versus Mike. This is the Angels versus the Dodgers. We’ve got a lot of guys. Belli won an MVP, Seager, J.T., everybody on our team is really good,” Betts said. “They have a really good squad as well. It’s definitely not one versus one, there’s 28 guys you’ve got to play with. I think we’ve got to keep that in mind.”

Bellinger then went out and hit two home runs to help the Dodgers to a win in the series opener. Kershaw also did his part by firing seven innings of one-run ball. The Dodgers’ victory on Friday was their first in the Freeway Series since 2018.

Dodgers games on national TV

After the TBS broadcast, the Dodgers will be part of two national broadcasts when they face the San Francisco Giants and Houston Astros, respectively.
