Dodgers Video: Cody Bellinger, Joc Pederson And Yasiel Puig Blast Home Runs Against Reds

The Los Angeles Dodgers needed doubles from Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger to take a 1-0 lead in the first inning, then largely relied on the long ball from there on out to beat the Cincinnati Reds.

With the game tied in the third inning, Chris Taylor knocked a two-run double. It atoned for his throwing gaffe in the first inning that allowed Billy Hamilton to score. Having nearly hit a home run in the first inning,Cody Bellinger followed Taylor’s double with a two-run homer.

Joc Pederson made it back-to-back with a solo home run halfway up the bleachers in right-center field.

For Bellinger, it was his team-leading 19th home run of the season, and it was Pederson’s second homer in as many games. Yasiel Puig chipped in with a towering home run of his own in the sixth inning.

He then added to it in the eighth, with a solo shot that reached the second deck in left-center field. That gave Puig 12 home runs this season, his most since hitting 16 during an All-Star season in 2014.

The Dodgers went on for a 10-2 victory, and with a win on Sunday can sweep the six-game season series with the Reds. Los Angeles has outscored Cincinnati, 34-16, through five head-to-head meetings thus far.
