Dodgers Re-Sign Carlos Duran To Minor League Contract

The Los Angeles Dodgers signed Carlos Duran to a Minor League contract, per his player profile page on MLB.com. He returns after finishing the 2025 season with the Athletics organization.

Duran originally signed with the Dodgers as an international free agent in 2018 and spent parts of six seasons with the organization before he was traded to the Athletics this past April for Esteury Ruiz.

Duran made his 2025 debut with the Oklahoma City Comets shortly before the trade, allowing just one run while collecting eight strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work.

He appeared in 38 overall games (two starts) between the Dodgers’ and Athletics’ Triple-A affiliates this year, going a combined 4-0 with a 5.03 ERA and 1.72 WHIP across 62.2 innings pitched.

Duran owns a career 4-20 record with a 4.27 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 119 Minor League games (80 starts) over parts of six seasons.

The right-hander made his MLB debut with the A’s on May 22, which wound up being his only appearance at the big league level in 2025. Duran retired just one of five batters faced, allowing three runs on one hit to go along with three walks.

The Athletics designated Duran for assignment this past June, who went on to spend the rest of the season in Triple-A.

The 24-year-old joins Nick Frasso and Chuckie Robinson as players who returned to the Dodgers organization this offseason on Minor League deals.

Why did Dodgers re-sign Carlos Duran?

Duran figures to serve as pitching depth for the Dodgers and presumably will open the 2026 season with Oklahoma City.

He could eventually return to the Majors if the team faces an injury, but would need to be added to the 40-man roster.
