Dodgers News: Stan Kasten Hints At New Dodger Stadium Food Vendors As Part Of Renovation Project

Last summer the Los Angeles Dodgers unveiled plans to renovate Dodger Stadium and projected the $100 million project would be completed by Opening Day of the 2020 Major League Baseball season.

Construction was going to add a plaza in center field, two new sports bars, new children’s play area and elevators and escalators, among other amenities and upgrades. Furthermore, Dodger Stadium was going to be outfitted with a revamped batter’s eye and feature a proverbial ‘front door.’

Of course, the array of new features have not yet been enjoyed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic delaying the start of the season. Furthermore, the notion that fans will be in attendance at Chavez Ravine this year appears unlikely.

Nevertheless, during a recent interview with Joe Davis and Orel Hershiser, Dodgers president and CEO Stan Kasten revealed new Dodger Stadium food vendors are on the horizon:

“As we’ve been saying from the start, not only are we going to have a lot of cool new spaces, but we’re going to have bars, restaurants and new food offerings that we haven’t even announced yet that I think are pretty exciting. New vendors coming in that have never been in the stadium before. We’re going to have history displays, batting cages, pitching machines and stuff for kids.

“It’s just a cool space to hang out; a cool space to come before the game, cool space to hang out after the game. It’s going to make a stadium all of us love, a stadium I have always maintained is the most beautiful stadium ever built to play in or watch the game of baseball, it’s going to still be that, only better with more amenities for a true 21st century experience.”

The Dodgers have regularly worked to improve the culinary experience, with Dodger Stadium executive chef Ryan Evans overseeing the various offerings. Last year the team rotated chefs in as part of the first-ever ‘L.A. Feeds Blue’ pop-up series.
