Los Angeles Dodgers prospects Dustin May and Keibert Ruiz of the Low-A Great Lakes Loons were named to the 2017 Midwest League All-Star Game. The Loons are hosting the All-Star Game at Dow Diamond on Tuesday, June 20.

May was selected by the Dodgers in the third round of the 2016 Draft. He went 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA in 10 games (six starts) with the Arizona League Dodgers during his debut season.

The right-hander is 3-2 with a 3.93 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 11 starts for Great Lakes this year. May has 54 strikeouts to eight walks in 50.1 innings pitched.

Ruiz was signed by the Dodgers as an international free agent in July 2014. He batted .300/.340/.387 with eight doubles, one home run and 19 RBI in a debut season the following year with the Dominican Summer League Dodgers.

Ruiz came stateside in 2016, joining Rookie level Ogden. He’s hitting .291/.339/.371 with nine doubles, one home run and 14 RBI in 42 games this season with the Loons.

By way of winning the Midwest League 2016 championship, the Loons will comprise the Easter Division coaching staff, with Jeremy Rodriguez serving as manager.

Previous Loons All-Stars include Clayton Kershaw (2007), Kenley Jansen (2008), Dee Gordon (2009), Jerry Sands (2010), Carlos Frias (2013), Jharel Cotton (2013), Kyle Farmer (2014) and Grant Holmes (2015).
