The Los Angeles Dodgers again had Minor League players receive honors, as Double-A Tulsa right-hander Corey Copping was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week, and High-A Rancho Cucamonga outfielder Quincy Latimore was named California League Player of the Week.

Both players were recognized for their respective performances during the week of Aug. 14-20. Copping appeared in three games during that span, recording three saves while throwing 3.2 scoreless and hitless innings with four strikeouts against just one walk.

On the season, Copping has 16 saves, a 2.89 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 58 strikeouts in 62.1 innings pitched over 45 relief appearances for the Drillers. He’s Tulsa’s eighth player to earn Texas League weekly honor this season.

The Dodgers selected Copping out of the University of Oklahoma in the 31st round of the 2015 Draft. This season is his first at the Double-A level.

Latimore began the season in the Detroit Tigers organization before signing with the Dodgers in June. Latimore reported to Tulsa, where he hit .265/.293/.361 with seven doubles, one triple, two home runs and 18 RBI in 42 games.

The 28-year-old was demoted to Rancho Cucamonga last week and responded in emphatic fashion. In five starts with the Quakes, Latimore went 8-for-12 with four doubles, two home runs, six walks and five RBI.

He produced four multi-hit games during the stretch he received weekly honors for and produced a 1.500 on-base plus slugging percentage. Latimore joins a long list of Quakes who were named Cal League Player of the Week this season.
