While the 2020 Major League Baseball season is over, there is still lots to talk about surrounding the Los Angeles Dodgers after their first World Series win in 32 years.

The latest episode of “DodgerHeads” featured DodgerBlue.com’s Jeff Spiegel and Daniel Starkand discussing all the latest news surrounding the team, with the primary focus being free agency.

The Dodgers enter the winter with most of their core from the 2020 World Series team intact, although they do have eight players who became free agents: Justin Turner, Joc Pederson, Kiké Hernandez, Pedro Baez, Jake McGee, Blake Treinen, Alex Wood and Jimmy Nelson.

There’s no doubt that Turner was the most impactful player of that bunch the last few seasons, but he is also the oldest. Spiegel and Starkand debated whether or not it makes sense to bring him back and for how much.

In addition to the Dodgers’ free agents, the discussion also focused on some of the top players available around the league and if they would make sense for L.A.

Given the current state of the country, many teams may not be willing to spend this winter, which could be a huge advantage for a big-market club such as the Dodgers. They did just give Mookie Betts a monster contract extension though, so it remains to be seen how big of spenders they will be this offseason.

Some of the top free agents around the league include Trevor Bauer, George Springer, JT Realmuto, DJ LeMahieu, Liam Hendriks. Also available is Brad Hand, who was just designated for assignment by the Cleveland Indians and went unclaimed on waivers.

Postseason recap episode

This free agency episode of “DodgerHeads” was actually the second of a two-part series. The first episode featured Spiegel and Matthew Moreno recapping the Dodgers’ 2020 postseason run, ranking the best moments, biggest contributors and more.
