The Los Angeles Dodgers farm system has produced plenty of talent over recent years and now finds itself in the midst of another wave that features several elite prospects, including Diego Cartaya, Bobby Miller and Miguel Vargas.

Vargas, who made his MLB debut last year, is primed to play a key role for the Dodgers this season. Miller could make an impact at the Major League level as well in 2023, but first is expected to start the Minor League season with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Meanwhile, Cartaya is among notable Dodgers prospects who still figure to be multiple years from making their respective debuts.

According to Barry Lewis of Tulsa World, manager Scott Hennessey anticipates Cartaya, Jonny DeLuca, Eddys Leonard, Andy Pages and Jorbit Vivas being on the Double-A Tulsa Drillers roster come Opening Day of the 2023 Minor League season:

The Drillers’ starting lineup when they host the San Antonio Missions in the opener on April 6 at ONEOK Field is likely to include Los Angeles Dodgers’ 40-man roster members Diego Cartaya, Andy Pages, Jonny DeLuca, Eddys Leonard and Jorbit Vivas.

Along with Michael Busch, Cartaya, DeLuca and Pages were added to the Dodgers’ 40-man roster prior to the 2022 Rule 5 Draft.

Cartaya split last season between Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and High-A Great Lakes, batting a combined .254/.389/.503 with 22 doubles, 22 home runs and 72 RBI over 95 games.

DeLuca began last season with the Loons but finished playing for the Drillers. He fared well after earning a promotion to Double-A, where DeLuca hit .298/.359/.606 with five doubles, three triples, seven home runs and 20 RBI over 25 games.

Leonard spent the entire 2022 Minor League season with Great Lakes, appearing in 127 games and batting .264/.348/.435 with 32 doubles, 15 home runs and 64 RBI.

Pages also played for just one affiliate last year by doing so with the Drillers. He hit .236/.336/.468 with 29 doubles, 26 home runs and 80 RBI in 132 games, and then was part of the group of Dodgers prospects to play in the Arizona Fall League.

Vivas joining the Drillers this year would represent a promotion, as he spent last year with the Loons. Vivas batted .269/.374/.401 with 19 doubles, 10 home runs and 66 RBI over 128 games.

Diego Cartaya participated in Dodger Stadium workouts

Widely viewed as the top Dodgers prospect heading into the 2023 season, Cartaya spent a portion of his offseason in Los Angeles and training at Dodger Stadium.
