The Los Angeles Dodgers (82-44) will get a brief break from the National League early this week as they welcome the Toronto Blue Jays (52-75) to Dodger Stadium for a three-game Interleague series starting on Tuesday.

The NL-leading Dodgers open the series as heavy -310 home favorites (bet $310 to win $100) on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com with three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw on the mound.

Kershaw (12-2, 2.63 ERA) is coming off a dominant road performance against the Miami Marlins last Wednesday in which he pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing only two hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts to win his fifth straight decision.

The 31-year-old southpaw has faced the Blue Jays just once during his illustrious career, giving up two runs and eight hits in seven innings of a victory with no walks and 10 strikeouts.

Blue Jays at Dodgers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Los Angeles last met Toronto in a three-game road series three years ago, taking two of them to improve to 6-1 in the past seven meetings between the teams, according to the OddsShark MLB Database.

While the Dodgers dropped two of three to the Atlanta Braves last weekend, they still own an eight-game lead on them for the top seed in the NL. The Blue Jays have also dropped two games in a row, but they have no shot at the postseason this season with a young lineup that may get back there sometime soon.

Toronto will send 23-year-old righty Sean Reid-Foley (2-3, 3.00 ERA) to the hill opposite Kershaw, and he has suffered losses in two of his previous three outings. In his last start, Reid-Foley lasted 3.1 innings and gave up four hits and three runs with three walks and three strikeouts.

However, prior to that he beat the New York Yankees with an excellent effort, allowing one runs and five hits in five innings with two walks and five strikeouts to pay off at online betting sites. He is 1-1 in three road games (two starts) so far with a stellar 0.82 ERA.

The rest of the series looks similarly lopsided for Los Angeles, with Walker Buehler (10-3, 3.31 ERA) and Kenta Maeda (8-8, 4.18 ERA) going to the mound on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. The Dodgers need to guard against a letdown and not look past the Blue Jays with a three-game set versus the Yankees next. Los Angeles is just 2-6 in its past eight games against American League foes and 4-10 dating back to the World Series.
