Dodgers News: Updated Dodger Stadium Mask Policy

The Los Angeles Dodgers begin a seven-game homestand on Monday and with that comes a new Dodger Stadium mask policy that is in accordance with the L.A. County Department of Public Health order
that went into effect Sunday morning.

As such, all individuals ages two and older, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a mask or an appropriate face covering while in indoor settings such as retail stores and restaurants, except while seated and actively eating or drinking.

The Dodgers consider covered stadium concourses and concession stands to fall under the indoor settings category, and thus where masks must be worn. Fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a face covering while seated in their ticketed seats.

The Dodgers still are not considering neck gaiters, bandanas and masks with valves as appropriate face coverings.

L.A. County has taken action in response to the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and hospitalizations increasing amongst those who are not fully vaccinated.

The Dodgers reached the 85% threshold for Tier 1 individuals (players, coaches, and those with direct access to them) in May, which brought about loosened health and safety protocols implemented by Major League Baseball.

While the Dodgers have managed to avoid any outbreaks, they have been loosely connected to teams not as fortunate. First, Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees had positive tests after the All-Star Game, and the Colorado Rockies also placed multiple players on the COVID injured list.

Prior to the Rockies’ situation becoming public, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he and others from the team that were on hand for the All-Star Game had undergone multiple rounds of testing ahead of beginning the second half of the season.

Dodger Stadium vaccinations

To further encourage public health, the Dodgers are continuing to host a vaccination clinic on the left field reserve level during games. Those who receive their vaccine will be presented with a voucher for two tickets to a future home game this season while supplies last.
