Arizona Diamondbacks Unveiling New City Connect Uniform During Dodgers Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks are playing their first series of the 2025 season with a four-game set at Chase Field that features intriguing pitching matchups and a new uniform design.

MLB Network host Sierra Santos narrated a video for the unveiling earlier this week.

The Diamondbacks’ second iteration of a City Connect uniform calls for the 2.0 design to pay homage to the franchise’s early days when purple and teal were primary team colors. Also featured on the new Diamondbacks City Connect jersey are the original pinstripes with a snakeskin pattern.

The Diamondbacks wore purple and teal during the first seasons in franchise history, which included winning the National League West in 1999, 2001 and 2002. That was also the team’s color scheme when the Diamondbacks won a World Series against the New York Yankees in 2001.

Arizona Diamondbacks City Connect 2.0

The new Diamondbacks City Connect uniform replaces their original version that debuted in 2021, and consisted of a desert sand color scheme.

One link between the two is the “Serpientes” script across the front of the jersey with the snake forming an “S” on the chest.

The 2.0 Diamondbacks City Connect uniform otherwise features a wide range of new details that are representative of the state and prior jerseys worn in franchise history.

That includes an “Arizona Born” graphic on the collar, state flag patch with the team’s “A” logo, tag to celebrate when the franchise was established (1998) and Arizona being the 48th state.

The Diamondbacks are among several teams that now are onto a second iteration under Nike’s City Connect program for MLB. The Dodgers implemented minor changes to their City Connect design over the years before a complete overhaul in the 2024 season.

Schedule of Diamondbacks purple and teal City Connect games

The Diamondbacks’ first game in their new City Connect uniform is Friday, for the start of Mexican Heritage Weekend at Chase Field. They also will wear the 2.0 Diamondbacks design in Saturday’s game against the Dodgers.

From there, the Diamondbacks will continue wearing their purple and teal City Connect uniform for every Friday home game during the remainder of the 2025 season.
