When the Los Angeles Dodgers and Golden Road Brewing announced multi-year partnership in 2019, it brought several craft beer offerings to Dodger Stadium, among other initiatives.
Chief among them was the creation of a Dodgers Blonde Ale, which became one of Golden Road’s most popular offerings at and outside of Chavez Ravine. Last month, Justin Turner partnered with Golden Road to rename the popular beer for launch before Opening Day of the 2022 regular season.
After thousands of submissions from fans, the beer has been renamed, Brew Heaven, with credit going to Zacharias Gardea.
“When it came time to refresh the name of our collaboration beer, we knew we had to get our fans involved,” Golden Road Brewing general manager Dan Hamill said in a statement. “With Golden Road fans and Justin Turner on our side, we had no doubt that the new name would be a home run!”
Along with having come up with the winning name for the craft beer, Gardea is going to receive VIP tickets to a game next season, $350 gift card to enjoy the beer at Dodger Stadium, and get to meet Turner.
“As a lifelong Dodgers fan, it is a great honor to name a new craft beer inspired by this world class organization and its best-in-the-sport fan base,” Gardea said. “Not only is the name Brew Heaven influenced by Dodger Stadium, AKA ‘Blue Heaven on Earth’, it also rolls easily off the tongue.
“You can imagine yourself at Golden Road Brewery saying, ‘I’ll take a Brew Heaven, please.’ I hope Brew Heaven makes Dodgers fans proud. Salud!”
Originally crafted two years ago, the Dodgers Blonde Ale — soon-to-be Brew Heaven — is brewed with Bravo and Cascade hops.
Turner connects with Brew Heaven
Gardea drawing inspiration from “Blue Heaven on Earth” for his naming of the beer resonated with Turner, who shared a special relationship with Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda.
“I think it’s pretty clever. It was a cool concept and it was fun shooting the commercial for it,” Turner told DodgerBlue.com. “There were a lot of great names brought up, but I think Brew Heaven is pretty special.
“It makes me think of Tommy every time I hear it, so fitting the official Golden Road beer here in Dodger Stadium will be called Brew Heaven. Hopefully everyone who orders it, the first thing that comes to mind will be Tommy.”
DodgerBlue.com would like to remind to please drink responsibly, and 21 and over.
