Inclement weather may prevent the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers taking the field Wednesday night, but if they manage to do so, Mookie Betts will play in his first Cactus League game since last week.

He was scratched from the lineup last Friday due to an upset stomach and remained out through the weekend because of food poisoning. There was some thought Betts would return at the start of the week, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts reverted back to Wednesday being the target date.

Betts is 5-for-19 with one double, one RBI and one walk in seven Cactus League games thus far. He’s started in right field and batted leadoff in each contest, which holds true against the Brewers.

Betts made it clear he is most comfortable in right field and leading off, and specifically with the consistency of knowing where he will be on a daily basis.

The Dodgers also welcome back Justin Turner, who was in Southern California to support his wife Kourtney and her running the L.A. Marathon. Turner is batting .429/.556/.714 with one double, one home run and four RBI.

More importantly, he avoided injury when being hit by a pitch in his left hand/knuckles area, and after fouling a ball off his foot.

Betts, Turner and other Dodgers regulars, Max Muncy, Cody Bellinger and Corey Seager, will look to provide run support for Walker Buehler. He’s making a third Cactus League start of the year, which marks the most Spring Training appearances of his young career.

Buehler was frustrated by a bit of an uneven performance his last time out, but also was mindful of not overreacting. He’s allowed two runs and has four strikeouts over 4.1 innings pitched through his first two starts.

Buehler is opposed by Freddy Peralta, who is making his fourth start of the spring. He’s 1-0 with a 3.52 ERA and turned in two scoreless appearances (five innings) before allowing three runs to the Cincinnati Reds.

First pitch was delayed to 6:35 p.m. PT.
