The Los Angeles Dodgers added a slew of new talent during the 2023 MLB Draft despite not making their first selection until No. 36. The pick dropped 10 spots as a result of the team exceeding the luxury tax threshold by more than $40 million during the 2022 season.

The Dodgers took outfielder Kendall George out of the University of Arkansas with the selection and went under slot to sign him. L.A. inked seven of their first 12 picks to below-slot deals.

The Dodgers signed all but three of their 22 selections prior to the deadline, with the only exceptions being Jaxon Jelkin (14th round), Javen Coleman (16th) and DJ Uiagalelei (20th).

The Dodgers went into this year’s Draft with a bonus pool of $7,274,600, which ranked 24th among teams. The total consists of the recommended slot values for every pick through the first 10 rounds.

For picks after the 10th round and the potential additions of undrafted free agents, any signing bonus amount above $150,000 will count against the bonus pool.
