Earlier this month, Clayton and Ellen Kershaw hosted their eighth annual KC Live benefit concert in Dallas. It’s one of two crown jewel events Kershaw’s Challenge puts together on a yearly basis, along with Ping Pong 4 Purpose at Dodger Stadium.

This week, Kershaw announced the concert raised a record $1.8 million for his charity, which surpassed the $1.2 million raised during the 2019 event. After the concert, both the longtime Los Angeles Dodgers starter and Kershaw’s Challenge posted a thank you message on Instagram.

Kershaw’s Challenge specifically thanked the sponsors, donors, volunteers and musician Darius Rucker, who gained fame as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for Hootie & the Blowfish, for his performance as the featured artist for the concert.

On Giving Tuesday, Kershaw gave a special thank you to Sketchers for their donations and generosity that helped make the event possible.

In addition to Sketchers, the event was sponsored by a multitude of corporations and people, including Omni Hotel and Resorts, Goldman Sachs & Co, Panini America, Sewell, American Airlines, Excel Sports Management, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, and many more.

Although Kershaw officially remains a free agent, it was previously reported he agreed to a deal with the Dodgers for one more season.

Chris Taylor Foundation hosted Driving for Hope event

Chris Taylor and his fiancée Mary Keller hosted a second annual “Driving For Hope” charity tournament at TopGolf Virginia Beach on Monday, Nov. 27, to benefit Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and Roc Solid Foundation in support of the fight against pediatric cancer.

They also have another event scheduled to take place next year in El Segundo.

Taylor had multiple childhood friends diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer, so he formed the CT3 Foundation to raise money for kids fighting the disease and help the lives of all those affected.

“It’s something I’m passionate about,” he said prior to last year’s event. “One of my childhood friends that I grew up with — Kyle Profilet — he lost his fight with osteosarcoma. I think cancer is something that’s affected everybody in some way.

“If it’s not sarcoma, some form of cancer has. I just felt it was important to use my platform.”
