Bobby Miller electrified Dodger Stadium and Trea Turner provided early run support to help the Los Angeles Dodgers end their Spring Training schedule with a 5-0 win over the L.A. Angels in the exhibition Freeway Series finale.

Miller’s first pitch of the game was a 100.2 mph fastball to Shohei Ohtani. The reigning American League MVP worked the count full before being called out on strikes as Miller pinpointed another triple-digits fastball.

The top Dodgers pitching prospect retired the side in order in the first inning and worked around a walk in the second. The lone hit Miller allowed was a blooper that fell for a leadoff single in the third inning.

Will Smith then caught Tyler Wade stealing, and Miller stranded Ohtani after issuing his second walk of the game. The right-hander threw 55 pitches (29 strikes) and met the goal of logging three innings.

Miller exited with a 3-0 lead thanks to Turner’s two-run double in the first inning, and Max Muncy’s RBI extra-base hit in the third. Turner later added a single and finished the night 2-for-3 to tie with Mookie Betts for the game high in hits.

The Dodgers’ offense went quiet until Chris Taylor provided some insurance with a two-run homer in the seventh inning. The home run was Taylor’s first of Spring Training.

Kahnle makes Dodgers debut

Originally scheduled to appear in the Dodgers’ final Cactus League game, Tommy Kahnle took the mound for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2020.

Kahnle had good velocity on his fastball and got over a quality changeup. He won’t be on the Dodgers Opening Day roster but could join the team by the end of April or beginning of May.

After Blake Treinen worked a clean eighth inning, Craig Kimbrel bounced back from a rough Dodgers debut to set the Angels down in order in the ninth.
