Dodgers World Series: Tyler Glasnow Treating Game 3 Start Like ‘Any Other’

The 2025 World Series is now at Dodger Stadium for three games, beginning Monday with Tyler Glasnow taking the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Southern California native has been dominant in the postseason thus far and can help the Dodgers take a 2-1 lead in the Fall Classic with another solid performance in Game 3.

“I’m trying to just go into it like it is any other game,” Glasnow answered when asked what it means to start in the World Series for the team he grew up rooting for as a Southern California native.

“Obviously, it’s the World Series for a hometown team, and it’s awesome, but I guess this whole postseason and like any start this season, I think if you go and you just handle what you can and simplify it in your workday and simplify it while you’re out there on the mound, I think a lot of the other stuff is just kind of noise.

“It’s very sentimental and amazing, but I think that’s kind of something I’ll look back on more and focus on and really feel the feelings of it maybe when this is all done. But I’m just trying to go to work and do well.”

Glasnow has made three postseason appearances (two starts) thus far in the playoffs, pitching to a minuscule 0.68 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 18 strikeouts against eight walks in 13.1 innings.

The right-hander wasn’t particularly sharp against the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series, but heavily leaned on his sinker to help him get through 5.2 innings while allowing just one run and battling cramps.

Tyler Glasnow downplays Dodgers pressure

Glasnow previously said during the NLCS that he does not feel any extra pressure being from Southern California and pitching for the Dodgers in the playoffs.

“Not really,” Glasnow began. “I think it’s just if I think about it, it just feels like a cool feeling. It doesn’t add pressure or anything. I just like the fact that I am home and I’m pitching for the Dodgers and it just adds kind of like a nice cool thing.

“But I think maybe early on when I first got here it was a little bit more in my head, and now I’ve been here a while, I don’t really think about it too much anymore. I mean, I appreciate it, but it doesn’t stick in my brain all the time, I guess.”
