As the final hours were ticking away toward the non-waiver trade deadline, the Los Angeles Dodgers made a splash by acquiring Rich Hill and Josh Reddick from the Oakland Athletics in a five-player trade.
Hill and Reddick seemingly check off two of three boxes for the Dodgers, as the club has also been said to be in search of a reliever. Their list of options diminished over the past week, with Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller and Mark Melancon all having been traded.
What’s more, the Dodgers were reported as having interest in Kansas City Royals closer Wade Davis, who since underwent an MRI and was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a flexor strain in his right arm.
With the Dodgers said to be engaged in trade talks with the Chicago White Sox, one player Los Angeles has interest in is closer David Robertson, according to David Vassegh of AM 570:

To this point the Dodgers and White Sox are primarily believed to have held talks on starting pitchers Jose Quintana and Chris Sale. Chicago reportedly wants Yasiel Puig to be included in a trade, which fits in line with the Dodgers’ apparent desire to trade the 25-year-old.
Robertson has 25 saves on the season to go along with a 4.15 ERA, 4.10 FIP and 1.39 WHIP. He has 51 strikeouts to 22 walks over 43.1 innings pitched. The Dodgers’ interest in Robertson hardly comes as a surprise given their desire to pair Kenley Jansen with another closer.
The 31-year-old Robertson is under contract through the 2018 season.
