Beats by Dr. Dre (“Beats”) unveiled a new marketing campaign that features Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani, one of the brand’s ambassadors.
The visuals were created in collaboration with renowned photographer Daniel Sannwald, who used Ohtani in a larger-than-life form. The various images have Ohtani wearing Beats products, including the Beats Studio Pro, Powerbeats Pro 2 and Powerbeats Fit.
“Los Angeles is a city of energy, culture, and ambition,” Ohtani said in a statement. “Wearing Beats and seeing myself rise above the skyline feels symbolic of the connection I have with this city and our fans. We rise high together.”

The new Beats campaign comes as Ohtani is preparing to embark on his third season with the Dodgers. His first two years with the team have wielded remarkable success in the form of back-to-back World Series titles and consecutive National League MVP Awards.

Ohtani previously starred alongside LeBron James and Lionel Messi in a Beats commercial for the release of the brand’s new Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones.
The campaign was titled “Listen to Your Heart” and narrated by hip-hop icon RZA. The commercial highlights Powerbeats Pro 2 along with the connection between passion, performance and heart.
“Getting to be a part of this campaign with LeBron James and Lionel Messi is really special,” Ohtani said at the time. “Tapping in to your heart is important whether you’re an athlete on the biggest stage or just getting started and I’m excited to partner with Beats to help deliver that message.”
Who does Shohei Ohtani admire?
During a recent appearance on MLB Network, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed his belief that Ohtani highly respects and admires Aaron Judge and teammate Freddie Freeman.
