Los Angeles Dodgers Minor League pitchers Reza Aleaziz and Juan Idrogo were each suspended after testing positive for a banned substance.

Aleaziz received a 50-game suspension without pay for violating the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program by ingesting Amphetamine, a stimulant. The Dodgers selected Aleaziz out of Oklahoma State in the 28th round of the 2018 MLB Draft.

He debuted with Rookie-level Ogden that year, and spent time with both the Raptors and High-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes last season. Aleaziz was part of the Low-A Great Lakes Loons roster, but was placed on the restricted list upon being suspended.

The right-hander is a career 5-1 with a 3.67 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 42 games over parts of two Minor League seasons.

Idrogo received a 72-game suspension without pay after testing positive for gw501516, a performance-enhancing substance. Idrogo joined the Dodgers organization when he signed last July during the international signing period.

The Venezuelan native was on the Dodgers’ Dominican summer league roster, but he too is now on the restricted list after being penalized. Idrogo has yet to make his professional debut.

The Cincinnati Reds (Vladimir Gutierrez) and Minnesota Twins (Jose Rosario) also had Minor Leaguers suspended.

The general assumption is the 2020 MiLB season will be cancelled due to challenges brought on the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Dodgers are among several clubs who included Minor Leaguers in their initial player pool list.
