The Los Angeles Dodgers began Interleague play with a quick two-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field, settling for a split after taking the first game. On Friday, Los Angeles starts a three-game set with the Toronto Blue Jays in the second leg of their five-game road trip.

Kenta Maeda and Marcus Stroman duel in the opener, Clayton Kershaw and R.A. Dickey are the probables for Saturday, and Ross Stripling and Marco Estrada are slated to start the series finale on Mother’s Day.

A quirk in the Dodgers’ schedule provided them with an off day before and after their series with the Rays. The Dodgers boarded a flight bound for north of the border after their loss on Wednesday, giving the club a full day off in Toronto on Thursday.

Adrian Gonzalez and Yasiel Puig took advantage by going fishing on Lake Ontario, with both making big catches. Gonzalez shared a video on his Twitter account of the salmon he caught:

Not to be outdone, Puig also showed off his catch, via Twitter:

The two teammates then posed for a photo with salmon they caught:

With Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors playing Game 2 of their playoff series, Puig, Kenley Jansen and other teammates went to catch the NBA action at Air Canada Centre, via the Dodgers:

Joc Pederson, a noted Golden State Warriors fan, attempted to surprise Clayton Kershaw, only to have the tables turned on him, via Pederson’s Twitter account:

Although Brandon McCarthy is not with the club, he chimed in with his usual quick wit:

@RossStripling are you guys rappelling down from the roof?

Utility man Charlie Culberson bravely walked the edge at the infamous CN Tower:

Puig also completed the thrill-seeking adventure:

The visit to Toronto is the Dodgers’ first since the 2013 season.
