Braves’ Michael Harris II: Tyler Glasnow ‘Absolutely Electric’

The Los Angeles Dodgers maintained their undefeated start to the 2025 season with a 6-1 win over the Atlanta Braves on Monday night, backed by a dominant start from Tyler Glasnow.

The right-hander allowed just two hits over five scoreless innings and recorded eight strikeouts against two walks in his first start of the year.

Michael Harris II struck out twice against Glasnow before singling in the fifth inning. He later went on to hit his first home run of the season off Tanner Scott as well.

Harris had high praise for Glasnow after the game and said he was at his absolute best, via Rowan Kavner of Fox Sports:

Michael Harris on Tyler Glasnow: “His stuff was absolutely electric…I’m not going to lie, that was kind of the nastiest I’ve seen him. It was 98, but it felt like 103.”

Glasnow’s first season with the Dodgers came to a premature end due to right elbow tendinitis, but his 2025 debut could not have gone better.

The 31-year-old worked with several specialists during the offseason to correct his spine angle, which should help him avoid putting additional stress on his elbow.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said during Spring Training that the adjustments have allowed Glasnow to pitch more freely, and that certainly proved to be the case in his start against the Braves.

Tyler Glasnow enjoyed pitching at Dodger Stadium

Glasnow’s start on Monday was his first at Dodger Stadium since Aug. 11, 2024.

“Yeah, it was awesome,” he said of getting to pitch again at the ballpark. “I think it was cool in spring, obviously, it’s just a little different in the regular season. It’s just nice to be home and pitching in Dodger Stadium, and the energy is unmatched. I think walking out in the first inning and grabbing the ball was a very cool moment.”

Glasnow was also pleased with his outing against a talented, albeit struggling Braves lineup.

“It was good,” he began. “I think especially that first thing I felt really synced up, the later innings after that were like a little bit more of a challenge. But I think having that curveball helped me out a lot. Just like the ride on the heater was a lot better too.

“So just probably better to throw a little more strikes. But the first one was good.”
