2026 MLB All-Star Game Managers: Dave Roberts & John Schneider

While the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays are still playing to determine a World Series winner for the 2025 season, their respective managers cemented spots in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game.

Dave Roberts will lead the National League for the fifth time since becoming Dodgers manager, while the Blue Jays’ John Schneider is going to serve as the American League skipper for the first time. Schneider is in his third full season as Blue Jays manager and fourth year overall.

Roberts previously managed the NL team in the 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2025 editions of the All-Star Game.

He is one of just six managers in Dodgers franchise history to lead the NL in an All-Star Game. The rest of the group consists of Leo Durocher, Burt Shotton, Charlie Dressen, Walt Alston and Tommy Lasorda.

The Philadelphia Phillies are hosting the 96th Midsummer Classic at Citizens Bank Park, which coincides with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Dave Roberts’ record as All-Star Game manager

Roberts has a 1-3 record in the All-Star Game, with his only win coming in 2025 at Truist Park.

The NL defeated the AL, 7-6, which was decided by a Home Run Derby-style swing-off for the first time in MLB All-Star Game history.

Kyle Schwarber hit three consecutive home runs to give the NL a decisive 4-3 lead and credited Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel, who pitched to him.

“Luckily, I’ve faced Dino in the World Baseball Classic. He was on the coaching staff. He’s got great BP,” Schwarber said at the time.

“A lot of credit goes to him, too, just kind of getting thrown into the firestorm there and not being rattled by it, being able to keep pumping really good strikes to us. Having the familiarity, and he asked me right before, he was like, ‘Where do you want it?’ I’m like, just middle. And he’s like, ‘I gotcha.’

“So a lot of credit goes to him, too, for the National League bringing it home.”
