After splitting the first two games of their series, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Kansas City Royals meet in a rubber match at Dodger Stadium on Father’s Day. A loss would mean the Dodgers drop two of three to the Royals for a second consecutive season.

Tyler Glasnow looks to help the Dodgers secure another series win and close out the homestand on a high note. The right-hander is making his 15th start of the season and hopes to bounce back from an inconsistent outing against the New York Yankees.

Glasnow collected 12 strikeouts over six innings of work, but allowed five runs on eight hits, including a pair of homers.

The 30-year-old takes the mound on two extra days of rest. His start against the Yankees was Glasnow’s first time pitching on normal rest this year.

Glasnow enters at 6-5 with a 3.24 ERA, 2.79 FIP, 0.94 WHIP and 12.1 strikeouts per nine in 86 innings pitched this season. He is 1-0 with a 1.88 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 14.3 strikeouts per nine in four career starts against the Royals.

The Dodgers need length from Glasnow as they are coming off a de facto bullpen game because Yoshinobu Yamamoto was removed after just two innings due to right triceps tightness.

Kansas City counters with Brady Singer, who is coming off his worst start of the season against the New York Yankees. He gave up seven runs (six earned) on seven hits in 5.2 innings pitched.

Singer otherwise has been effective this year as he owns a 4-3 record, 3.30 ERA, 3.72 FIP and 1.23 WHIP in 71 innings over 13 starts.

The 27-year-old is 2-0 with a minuscule 0.69 ERA and 0.85 WHIP in two career starts against the Dodgers.
