MLB All-Star Week’s action on the field begins Saturday, July 16 at Dodger Stadium with the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game. The annual exhibition features the top Minor League prospects competing and will once again be a National League vs. American League format.
Former Los Angeles Dodgers catcher and three-time World Series champion Mike Scioscia will manage the NL Futures team, while 2007 NL MVP Jimmy Rollins will oversee the AL Futures team.
The remainder of the coaching staffs, as well as rosters and umpires for the game, will be announced in the coming weeks.
Scioscia, a two-time All-Star, played all 13 of his MLB seasons with the Dodgers before going on to manage the L.A. Angels for 18 years. He led the Angels to 12 winning seasons during that span, including six AL West division titles and the 2002 World Series championship.
Rollins played 15 of his 17 MLB seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies and helped the club win the World Series in 2008.
He also played one season with the Dodgers and Chicago White Sox. Over the course of his career, he collected 2,455 hits, won four Gold Glove Awards and earned three All-Star selections.
The 2022 Futures Game is scheduled for seven innings and will begin at 4 p.m. PT. It will be exclusively broadcast on Peacock and SiriusXM, the official satellite radio partner of Major League Baseball, on channel 89.
