FOCO released a limited-edition Los Angeles Dodgers Opening Day bobblehead to commemorate the start of the 2023 regular season. The design is of the Dodgers unofficial mascot of sorts — the Dodger Dog — set to a Dodger Stadium theme.
The Dodger Dog is set atop a base that resembles a baseball field and includes the ticket booth windows found on the Dodger Stadium club level. Also included is Vin Scully’s name across the back of the base.
The Dodger Dog has previously served as the bases for a bobblehead when Spring Training began and various holiday themed versions.
Opening Day for the Dodgers was a rousing success as they overcame an early deficit to earn an 8-2 win.
Julio Urías pitched six innings, and the Dodgers received offensive contributions from Will Smith, J.D. Martinez, David Peralta and James Outman.
Thursday night also saw the official unveiling of the new Dodger Stadium lights. The LED system is more energy efficient and provides the capability to quickly turn on and off, along with changing color.
