Complex unveiled the Takashi Murakami x MLB Tokyo Series collection that launches March 7 to further heighten excitement for the international matchup between the Los Angeles Dodges and Chicago Cubs.

The collection, created by Murakami, a renowned Japanese contemporary artist, celebrates his country’s passion for baseball through two of MLB’s most storied franchises.

“Complex is proud to bring together Takashi Murakami and two of the biggest teams in MLB to celebrate this historic sports moment in Tokyo,” Complex CEO Aaron Levant said in a statement.

“This once-in-a-lifetime collaboration merges Murakami’s unmistakable artistry with the global energy of baseball, capturing the essence of the city and the deep cultural connection between art and sport.”

Featuring Murakami’s iconic vibrant colors and playful motifs, the exclusive Tokyo Series collection brings a fresh, artistic perspective to various MLB merchandise and memorabilia products.

“I think this new collection builds upon the historical friendship between Japan and the United States,” Murakami said in a statement.

“I feel lucky to be able to work alongside Complex, MLB and highlight Shohei Ohtani, an outstanding athlete who has emerged from Japan and made a name for himself on the global stage. This is something I am overwhelmed with gratitude to be a part of.”

Among the items from the Fanatics apparel collection that will be part of Murakami’s Tokyo Series collection are Nike t-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, limited edition jerseys for both the Dodgers and Cubs.

Murakami’s iconic floral artwork will be available on Dodgers player jerseys for Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman; and Shota Imanaga, Seiya Suzuki and Dansby Swanson of the Cubs.

Furthermore the collaboration is also going to include slides by Ohana Hatake, a first-of-its-kind brand led by Murakami. The new releases feature Murakami’s flower motif and showcase Cubs and Dodgers logos on the Surippa Ohana silhouette.

In addition to wearable merchandise, the Tokyo Series collection will also include Topps trading cards, New Era 59FIFTY knits and adjustable caps, Rawlings baseballs and gloves, Victus bats, totes, keychains and more.

A special 2025 Topps x Murakami MLB Tokyo Series matchup set will be available exclusively through Complex Shop. The collection includes a 25-card complete set, featuring Murakami artwork that celebrates players from both teams.

The set also has rare parallels and autographs, with the chase card being a one-of-one dual-autograph card of Murakami and Ohtani. Each limited-edition box will contain one 25-card complete set, one serial-numbered base card parallel /199 or lower.
