After beginning their road trip with a 13-0 victory at Coors Field, the Los Angeles Dodgers continue their four-game series against the Colorado Rockies.

Julio Urías makes his 20th start of the season and looks to build on an excellent outing against the San Francisco Giants. The left-hander began the second half of the 2022 season by allowing just two hits and collecting five strikeouts over six scoreless innings.

Urías believes the mechanical adjustments he made earlier this season are paying off. “I think I found a little something the last couple bullpens and then the last two starts,” Urías said.

“I felt like I’ve been able to make those adjustments and every fifth day come out and pitch like I have.”

After a career year in 2021, Urías has continued pitching well this season as he is 9-6 with a 2.72 ERA, 3.91 FIP and 1.00 WHIP across 102.2 innings.

The 25-year-old owns a 4-2 record, 5.23 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 17 career appearances against the Rockies (14 starts). He has yielded 10 runs (seven earned) in 13.1 innings against Colorado this season.

The Rockies counter with Chad Kuhl, who looks to bounce back from a rough outing against the Milwaukee Brewers. He was tabbed with a no-decision after allowing five runs on five hits in a season-low 2.1 innings pitched.

Kuhl enters at 6-5 with a 4.48 ERA, 4.58 FIP and 1.44 WHIP in 94.1 innings this season (18 starts). While he has struggled for the most part, the right-hander threw a complete game shutout against the Dodgers on June 27.

Kuhl is 3-2 with a 3.41 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in five career starts against L.A.

Justin Turner remains out of the Dodgers lineup for a second consecutive game and seventh time in the past eight. Manager Dave Roberts had indicated Turner would not start the first two games at Coors Field to ensure he doesn’t experience any trouble after returning from a chest/ribcage injury.

Trea Turner enters play on a 15-game hitting streak.
