Dodgers Highlights: Trea Turner Extends Hitting Streak, Will Smith Ties For RBI Lead & Hanser Alberto Pitches Against Rockies

The Los Angeles Dodgers opened their road trip with a blowout win against the Colorado Rockies, 13-0, backed by a lot of early scoring.

After extending his hitting streak to 15 games with a single in the first inning, Trea Turner advanced to scoring position on Freddie Freeman’s walk. The Dodgers then attempted a double steal and it paid off as Elias Díaz’s throw to third base got away and Turner was able to score.

Freeman then scored on a wild pitch before Jose Ureña could make it through the first inning. Ureña faced more trouble in the second as a leadoff single, walk and throwing error loaded the bases with nobody out.

Turner cleared them with a one-out double and Will Smith later produced an extra-base hit of his own to extend the Dodgers’ lead to 6-0.

In the fourth inning, the Dodgers loaded the bases with two singles and help from an error before Smith took advantage with a two-run single that knocked Ureña out of the game in the fourth inning.

Gavin Lux continued with his strong season by hitting an RBI single and Cody Bellinger drove a pair in on his double to the right-center field gap.

The Dodgers capped off their scoring when Freeman doubled to drive in Zach McKinstry and Betts, putting the Dodgers up 13-0.

Tyler Anderson earns first win against former club

Tyler Anderson, who has made the majority of his career starts with the Rockies, was finally able to earn a win against them by pitching seven shutout innings and giving up just four hits.

From there, Jake Reen pitched a scoreless eighth inning before Dodgers manager Dave Roberts turned to Hanser Alberto to pitch the ninth. Alberto allowed two hits but pitched a scoreless inning in his third appearance of the year.
