Dodgers Video: Kiké Hernandez Leads Team In Lemon Face Challenge

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been involved with multiple campaigns to raise awareness for worthy causes in the past, taking part in the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS a few years ago, and more recently the Whip Cream Challenge to support the 17Strong Foundation.

The most recent viral video trend that is starting to gain some steam is the Lemon Face Challenge. Aubreigh Nicholas, an 11-year-old who was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (a rare and inoperable brain tumor), created a group on Facebook called Aubreigh’s Army to raise awareness for DIPG.

Like with previous efforts, participants record themselves completing a challenge and then passing it on by issuing it to others. On Friday, Kiké Hernandez, Yasiel Puig, Dave Roberts and several others became involved.

Upon biting into a lemon, Hernandez and the Dodgers issued the challenge to the Arizona Diamondbacks:

According to the Lemon Face Challenge’s official website, PCOS affects 1-in-10 women and can have serious health consequences. Millions of women and girls with PCOS are still going undiagnosed, untreated and unsupported.

PCOS is one of the most common human disorders, yet it is one of the most neglected areas of health.

Kudos to Hernandez and the rest of the Dodgers for helping raise awareness, and hopefully the Diamondbacks and other Major League teams follow suit.
