Joc Pederson may spend the bulk of his time in baseball cleats but the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder has a passion for basketball shoes, which has led to an expansive collection of Air Jordan sneakers and other pairs from various Nike lines.
Pederson recently provided fans with an inside look at his connection through a video segment for B/R Kicks. The shelves in Pederson’s closet are lined with limited sneakers that most collectors would name as some of the more impressive sneakers.
Pederson is particularly fond of the Off-White line of Nikes designed by Virgil Abloh. His favorite pairs being the Off-White Air Jordan 1 ‘UNC’ and the Off-White Air Force 1 Low MCA.
Outside of the Off-White line, that also applies to the Nike Kobe 6 ‘Grinch,’ which originally released for Christmas in 2010 and is rumored to be slated for a return as a Protro in 2021.

The pair is particularly more meaningful to Pederson in the wake of the L.A. Lakers legend tragically passing away in January. Bryant’s impact and presence was felt throughout the Dodgers clubhouse, with Cody Bellinger, Clayton Kershaw and Justin Turner among those to speak highly of the five-time champion.
With Bryant’s signature shoe drawing inspiration from ‘The Grinch,’ it also carries significance for Pederson as the movie is one of his daughter’s favorite.
As Pederson continues through the tour, pairs of the Nike Air Yeezy 1 and 2 are not specifically highlighted but certainly stand out as impressive collection pieces. The 28-year-old concluded the tour by doing a recap of pairs he wears more regularly, while noting the expansive collection has filled multiple closets, much to his wife’s dismay.
