The Los Angeles Dodgers (13-7) will continue their stay in Southern California as solid favorites starting on Friday when they head down Interstate 5 for a three-game Freeway Series against the L.A. Angels (7-12).

The Dodgers just wrapped up a four-game set at home versus the San Diego Padres after hosting the San Francisco Giants, and they opened as -160 chalk for Friday’s series opener at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Angels opened as +148 underdogs after taking two of three games from the Oakland Athletics.

Three-time National League Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw (1-1, 3.60 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Dodgers to start the series, and he pitched well in his lone road outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Aug. 2. In that start versus the Diamondbacks, Kershaw scattered only three hits in 5.2 scoreless innings with no walks and six strikeouts in a 3-0 victory.

Kershaw will be opposed by Patrick Sandoval (0-1, 2.70 ERA) of the Angels, as he continues to search for his first victory. Sandoval has been solid in each of his first two starts, allowing two runs and four hits each time. Last year, he was 0-3 in five home starts with a 3.60 ERA.

Surprisingly, the Dodgers have lost four straight meetings with the Angels, with all of those taking place last year. The UNDER has also cashed at sports betting sites in each of the past five games between the teams along with nine of 10 and 12 of 14.

Walker Buehler (0-0, 4.40 ERA) is expected to get the call for the Dodgers in the second game of the series on Saturday opposite Andrew Heaney (1-1, 4.26 ERA) of the Angels. Then in the series finale on Sunday, the Dodgers will likely go with Dustin May (1-1, 2.75 ERA) against Julio Teheran (0-1, 13.50 ERA) of the Angels. Teheran has yet to go a full three innings in either of his first two starts, surrendering a combined seven runs in 4.2 innings with four walks and three strikeouts.
