The Los Angeles Dodgers activated Luis García off the 15-day injured list and optioned Will Klein to Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to Thursday’s game against the Colorado Rockies.

Klein heads back to the Minors after spending just under one week with the team. It was his second stint with the Dodgers since being acquired in a trade with the Seattle Mariners on June 2, though that first instance saw Klein remain on the roster for only one day.

Thus, the right-hander didn’t make his Dodgers debut until June 21, when he pitched 1.2 innings against the Washington Nationals. Klein’s most recent appearance came Wednesday night as he threw two scoreless innings to finish out the Dodgers’ 8-1 win over the Rockies.

The 25-year-old didn’t allow a run in either game for the Dodgers, allowed a combined three hits, issued one walk and collected five strikeouts.

The Dodgers traded Minor League pitcher Joe Jacques to the Mariners to acquire Klein. He previously reached the Majors with the Kansas City Royals and Oakland Athletics in 2024, but only appeared in a combined eight games.

Luis García back with Dodgers

García had been on the injured list since June 1 because of a right adductor strain. His IL stint was backdated to May 29, though that wound up being a moot point as he missed more than 15 days from June 1 anyhow.

García made just one rehab appearance while on the injured list, making a start and throwing one scoreless inning for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on June 22.

At the time of being lost to injury, García ranked third on the team with 26 appearances. He additionally was second among all Dodgers relievers with 26 innings pitched.

García is 2-0 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.69 WHIP this season.
